Follow-up report on the second fundraiser for flood victims

The BVB fan council and the “Südtribüne Dortmund” alliance organised a second fundraiser for the victims of the flood disaster.

Last weekend, the BVB fan council and the “Südtribüne Dortmund” alliance organised a second fundraiser for the victims of the flood disaster six weeks ago.

Once again, many BVB fans turned up to hand in needed relief supplies at the collection point directly at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. Thanks to the high level of willingness to donate, a total of 17 Euro pallets were collected during this fundraising campaign. This time, the fan representatives of Holstein Kiel were welcomed as special donors. On their way back home after the away game in Düsseldorf, they made a diversion through Dortmund with a boot full of drinks and food to support this fundraising campaign.

On the following Tuesday, the collected relief supplies were transported free of charge by Transport company Jankowski from Lünen to the collection point of the private relief organisation “Eifel für Eifel” in Nettersheim. This aid transport was accompanied by Fan Council members Uwe Pless and Andreas Assmann. On site, the donations were received with great joy, unloaded, sorted and, in some cases, loaded into the aid organisation’s vehicles immediately after arrival in order to deliver them to those affected.

“It was impressive to see directly how many affected private individuals, but also smaller business owners, were provided from there with the donations unbureaucratically and quickly. This voluntary team from ‘Eifel for Eifel’ was definitely the right address for our donations,” said Uwe Pless.

And Andreas Assmann added: “The four hours we were able to spend helping out on site made it very clear to us once again how important our donation campaigns were so that those affected in the Eifel and the Ahrtal valley can continue to be provided with the most essential items.”

Finally, a big thank you once again to all those who supported this fundraising campaign!
