BVB players Erling Haaland, Mats Hummels and Jadon Sancho have been nominated for the Team of the Season by their fellow professionals in the Vereinigung der Vertragsfussballspieler (VDV; the professional footballers’ union in Germany).

The “VDV 11” is composed of the best players per position across the season. Mats Hummels (40.7%), Jadon Sancho (61.3%) and Erling Haaland (34.0%) all convinced in their positions. Achraf Hakimi, who has since departed Dortmund to join Inter Milan in Serie A, also made the “VDV 11” with a score of 61.3%.

In the vote for the VDV Player of the 2019/20 Season award, Jadon Sancho finished second behind Robert Lewandowski.

All the players in the Bundesliga, Bundesliga 2, third division and the regional leagues, as well as the other VDV members, are eligible to vote.
