The IT security manufacturer ESET has handed over 1,500 boxes of its ESET Internet Security BVB edition, worth over €50,000, to three BVB partner schools free of charge.
The IT security manufacturer ESET, Champion Partner of Borussia Dortmund, has handed over 1,500 boxes of its ESET Internet Security BVB edition, worth over €50,000, to three BVB partner schools free of charge. With the special Black and Yellow edition of the security solution, the school children can protect their computers, smartphones and tablets from cyber threats.
“Protecting digital devices is particularly important during home schooling, because cyber criminals don’t spare school children’s PCs,” said Holger Suhl, DACH Country Manager at ESET. “Unfortunately, this important aspect was hardly taken into account when it comes to distance learning. It was therefore a matter of course for us to get involved in Dortmund quickly and easily.”
“It really is a wonderful campaign and a strong commitment to the partnership with BVB and the region. The fact that ESET is taking care of the security of the pupils’ end devices and providing 1,500 security packages for school children in Dortmund goes beyond normal sponsorship,” said Matthias Röben, head of education at BVB. “We are pleased that the company is actively involved in the week themed around this issue in addition to its generous donation and that it really takes care of the safety and security of children on the Internet.”
Themed week “Safe on the net”
The BVB KidsClub, together with the BVB Learning Centre and ESET’s “SaferKidsOnline” initiative, is organising the digital themed week “Safe on the net” from 15 to 19 March 2021 to make surfing the Internet and the use of computers and smartphones safer. Here, parents and children can expect articles and online workshops on topics such as social media, webcam protection, cyberbullying and digital learning. The themed week is aimed at KidsClub members between the ages of 10 and 13 and their parents. Further information is available at: http://bvb.de/kidsclub
