French central defender Soumaila Coulibaly will play for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund from the start of the 2021/22 season. The 17-year-old is regarded as one of the brightest prospects at the youth academy of French top-flight outfit Paris St. Germain.
Coulibaly has not yet played at senior level, but he has trained regularly with the Paris St. Germain first-team squad this season and represents France at U18 level. He is currently recovering from a knee injury.
Soumaila Coulibaly will put pen to paper on a long-term contract with BVB. “I’m absolutely delighted at the prospect of playing for such a tradition-steeped club. I’m grateful for the training I received at Paris Saint Germain, but I believe this move is the best step for me,” he said, adding: “I had offers from other clubs, but once I’d spoken to the management at BVB, I immediately knew this was the right club for me. I can’t wait to get started at my new club.”
