Rapid tests are a key part of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. In order to detect a Covid-19 infection at an early stage, Borussia Dortmund’s partner DSW21 is offering free rapid tests for its employees. On Thursday, the corona test bus used for this purpose also stopped at two BVB locations for the first time.
Since mid-March, the corona test bus has been travelling to the DSW21, DOKOM21 and Dortmund harbour locations so that the workers there can be tested for the coronavirus on site. “The great response shows that we are doing exactly the right thing with this great service. I am sure that Borussia Dortmund employees will also take up the offer well and I am looking forward to working together,” said Michael Schneider, health manager at DSW21.
On Thursday, the bus drove to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK for the first time to also give the employees at the BVB office the opportunity to get a rapid coronavirus test free of charge. The next stop was the Hohenbuschei training ground in Dortmund-Brackel.
“DSW21 as a sustainability partner and in DEW21 as a premium partner of BVB have always emphasised that the cooperation is not just about sponsorship, but about a real, genuine partnership in action,” said Guntram Pehlke, CEO of DSW21. “Supporting one another in difficult situations is at the heart of such a cooperation. The corona pandemic presents us all with challenges that we can only overcome together. That’s why we’re happy to be able to support BVB in this way.”
In future, the corona test bus will visit BVB once a week and give employees the opportunity to have a rapid test. If a test is positive, this will be followed by a PCR test performed on site and evaluated in a laboratory.
“We would like to thank DSW21 for the cooperation and the opportunity to use the corona test bus regularly at BVB. Unfortunately, not all employees have the opportunity to work from home. By offering them tests, we can offer them a safer place to work. I am sure that many of our employees will take advantage of this offer,” said Corinna Borgmann, director of human resources at Borussia Dortmund.
