Follow-up report to the fundraiser

Over the past few days, the BVB Fan Council and the “Südtribüne Dortmund” alliance moved quickly to organise a fundraiser for people affected by the floods.

Over the past few days, the BVB Fan Council and the “Südtribüne Dortmund” alliance moved quickly to organise a fundraiser for people affected by the floods and turned to the BVB fan community with an urgent appeal.

A total of more than 50 volunteers were deployed on two days in the “Luftbad” parking lot at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK, who had come together from the BVB Fan Council, the “Südtribüne Dortmund” alliance, the BVB supporters’ association and donors.

On the first day, some 27 pallets and 90 bags full of donations were collected. The second day saw those numbers beaten, for a final total of 62 pallets and 150 bags full of donated items. Donations primarily included sanitary products, baby food and accessories, animal feed, large quantities of water bottles, as well as biscuits, chocolate, clothing and much more.

At this point, we would like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you who contributed to raising this incredible amount of donations. The initiative has shown once again that the fans of Borussia Dortmund come together and show solidarity even in difficult times. Two BVB fans from the Netherlands made the longest journey to get involved. Local institutions such as the Berghofen voluntary fire brigade also supported the event.

Yesterday, a first van took off in the direction of Erftstadt to distribute the necessary supplies to the respective aid locations. On Thursday morning, three more trucks will be set up to deliver the collected donations to further locations, including those in the flood-hit areas of Stolberg and Erftstadt.

In addition to the donations collected, a large sum of money has also been received by the BVB “leuchte auf” Foundation. The funds raised current stand at €9,300. You still have the opportunity to donate using the keyword “Hochwasser” (flooding). To do so, please use the following link: https://www.bvb.de/Der-BVB/Stiftung/Spenden

The BVB “leuchte auf” Foundation and the stakeholders in the fund-raising campaign are working together to decide which charitable associations and institutions the donations will go to in order to ensure that they are allocated in a meaningful and precise manner.

Finally, we would like to say another big thank you to all those who supported the event!
